Exploring the Intersection of Faith and Everyday Life
I am an educator, counsellor, and writer. I am interested in synthesizing theology, counselling, and life experiences. Having an educational background in counselling and theology, and a love of research, my writing offers a unique perspective on personal growth, spiritual development, theological understanding, and how Christians and churches can become the people and places of belonging that are reflective of the early church. Join me as I exlpore the intersection of faith and everyday life.
A Journey of Words and Wisdom
From a young age, I loved the written word and good discussions. Growing up with parents who valued education and thoughtful dialogue, we were encouraged to ask questions, listen, consider diverse perspectives, and justify our viewpoints. My academic pursuits led me to study counselling, theology, and literature, where it was reinforced that listening to diverse opinions and stories enables us to see and understand one another. I have always been passionate about justice, kindness, and inclusiveness, believing that every voice deserves to be heard and every one has the right to belong.

My life has been a tapestry of experiences that have shaped my worldview. Childhood experiences, being a member of the Canadian national track team competing around the world, attending university, my career in counselling and education, living in various communities in British Columbia, and being a mother and grandmother have all helped shape who I am, how I see the world, the passion I have for life long learning, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. I have faced challenges that tested my resolve and triumphs that fueled my determination, both of which have instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of empathy, the importance of standing up for what is just and true, and recognizing the need of all humans to belong.
Exploring the Essence of Justice
The Power of Compassion and Inclusion
Justice, mercy, forgiveness, inclusiveness, and transformation are cornerstones of my life’s work. I believe that justice is not just about fairness but about creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Mercy allows us to see beyond faults and embrace the humanity in each person. Forgiveness is a powerful tool that liberates us from the shackles of past grievances, paving the way for healing and growth. Inclusiveness ensures that the creation of safe spaces allows every voice to be heard and valued, diversity is celebrated, everyone belongs and can contribute by utilizing their strengths. These principles guide my writing and interactions, as I strive to connect with others who share a vision of a more compassionate, just, and equitable world.
